Argumentative Essay Topics - Facts Vs Emotions
Argumentative Essay Topics - Facts Vs EmotionsArgumentative essay topics include news and political discussions that many people find humorous and interesting. If you are assigned a social media essay, the two main options that you will have to choose from are stating a fact or trying to persuade your reader to your point of view. Most writers tend to try to convince their readers instead of stating a fact, because it is easier and faster. However, facts need to be presented in the essay for the reader to understand the argument. Most social media users come into their opinions about a topic because they were only exposed to information through the information media. In other words, they did not develop their opinions by asking the experts in the field. Thus, in order to win the argument, you must present information in the form of facts that can be proven by expert opinion. Therefore, when writing an argumentative essay on social media, you should take note of how experts present the information to their readers. First, they state the facts in a way that allows the reader to understand the reasoning behind their statements. Second, they use emotional wording that encourages the reader to come to their own conclusions. Lastly, they provide details that will convince the reader to agree with their statements. Therefore, if you are going to write an argumentative essay on social media, you need to focus on these three elements. If you focus on the emotional side of the information, the reader will not be able to get enough information to completely understand your point of view. For example, if the information presented is based on a fact, the facts will have to be stated in a way that will be convincing enough for the reader to agree with your opinion. On the other hand, if you present emotional information in an attempt to convince the reader, the reader will likely not be convinced by the fact. Thus, if you want to win an argument, you will need to be able to pres ent a strong argument that will be well-known and accepted by the reader. You do not need to take sides on the topic or offer a 'correct' opinion. In fact, if you present the information in a manner that is persuasive, the reader will be more receptive to your information and will be more willing to listen to you. Most of the time, if you are writing an argumentative essay on social media, you will not come up with any information. This means that the only thing you need to do is to make sure that you are presenting arguments that are backed by facts. Since information that is supported by facts is a strong argument, most students are aware of this. Therefore, they often refer to this fact when they write their essays on social media. Therefore, if you are writing an essay on social media, make sure that the data that you provide is based on facts. Although a claim may be supported by facts, the facts need to be presented in a manner that will be understood by the reader. For example, if the information is based on emotion, the reader will not be able to fully understand the facts that you presented in your essay. The three arguments above are the three argumentative essay topics that are very common in social media. Whether you are writing an essay on video games, World of Warcraft, or another social media phenomenon, it is important that you make sure that you are including these types of topics in your essay.

Suicide Person Essays - Abnormal Psychology, Psychiatric Diagnosis
Suicide Person So how can the physician determine when a patient should be diagnosed as depressed or suicidal? Brown (1996) suggested the best way to diagnose is to "screen out the vulnerable groups of children and adolescents for the risk factors of suicide and then refer them for treatment." Some of these "risk factors" include verbal signs of suicide within the last three months, prior attempts at suicide, indication of severe mood problems, or excessive alcohol and substance abuse. Many physicians tend to think of depression as an illness of adulthood. In fact, Brown (1996) stated that "it was only in the 1980's that mood disorders in children were included in the category of diagnosed psychiatric illnesses." In actuality, 7-14% of children will experience an episode of major depression before the age of 15. An average of 20-30% of adult bipolar patients report having their first episode before the age of 20. In a sampling of 100,000 adolescents, two to three thousand will have mood disorders out of which 8-10 will commit suicide (Brown, 1996). Blackman (1995) remarked that the suicide rate for adolescents has increased more than 200% over the last decade. Brown (1996) added that an estimated 2,000 teenagers per year commit suicide in the United States, making it the leading cause of death after accidents and homicide. Blackman (1995) stated that it is not uncommon for young people to be preoccupied with issues of mortality and to contemplate the effect their death would have on close family and friends. Once it has been determined that the adolescent has the disease of depression, what can be done about it? Blackman (1995) has suggested two main avenues to treatment: "psychotherapy and medication." The majority of the cases of adolescent depression are mild and can be dealt with through several psychotherapy sessions with intense listening, advice and encouragement. Comorbidity is not unusual in teenagers, and possible pathology, including anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, learning disability or attention deficit hyperactive disorder, should be searched for and treated, if present (Blackman, 1995). For the more severe cases of depression, especially those with constant symptoms, medication may be necessary and without pharmaceutical treatment, depressive conditions could escalate and become fatal. Brown (1996) added that regardless of the type of treatment chosen, "it is important for children suffering from mood disorders to receive prompt treatment because early onset places children at a greater risk for multiple episodes of depression throughout their life span." Until recently, adolescent depression has been largely ignored by health professionals but now several means of diagnosis and treatment exist. Although most teenagers can successfully climb the mountain of emotional and psychological obstacles that lie in their paths, there are some who find themselves overwhelmed and full of stress. How can parents and friends help out these troubled teens? And what can these teens do about their constant and intense sad moods? With the help of teachers, school counselors, mental health professionals, parents, and other caring adults, the severity of a teen's depression can not only be accurately evaluated, but plans can be made to improve his or her well-being and ability to fully engage life.

Management and Marketing of Children essays
Management and Marketing of Children essays Management and marketing in particular, view children as target consumers and an important market for their products. Such a trend started gaining prominence when the media had begun to have its influence on children. It started with the television more than 50 years ago, and now Internet is beginning to have a greater impact. In the United States, there are now more than one million children who have access to the World Wide Web and according to research done in the technology, the figure will soon become as high as 3.8 million and then higher. According to surveys done in 1994, 11 percent of families who have annual income of even less than $20,000 have a computer, and when the income level reaches $50,000, the proportion having computers reach 56 percent. That does not mean that modern facilities are available to all American children, and more than ten percent of American children live in homes which do not have a telephone. In the government agenda for action released in 1993, there was a call from the White House for all schools, libraries and hospitals to be connected to the national information infrastructure by 2000. [1] It is important to note the opinions of experts like Jerry Kessler of Quaker Oats, who says "Children and adults do like different products. It would be hard making a generalized statement as to what those differences are. Ideally, you could run an experimental design separately for children and adults and then run the optimization three ways; what is optimum for the child, for the adult and for a combined data set where results for the children and adults are weighted by the expected percentage of use by each."[2] It is not that they know what to take and teenage girls are likely to have inadequate calcium intake, which is related to low milk consumption. European Union Law Degree Case Study Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words
European Union Law Degree - Case Study Example In this case the defendant must not be a state entity. The requirements of Directives can be applied horizontally between two private parties1. The UK instrument requires commercial providers of fossil based fuels to limit their quantity to 50% of their total output. On the other hand, the Directive limits this to just 40%. This In addition, this statute permits the use of candles and other fossil based fuels, without any restriction; whereas the Directive clearly specifies that these fuels are to be used, only for religious and cultural ceremonial rituals. In the event of failure by a Member State, in this regard, the EU will approach the ECJ to initiate necessary action against the Member State. National governmental entities, private or public utility organisations and firms must invariably apply EC law provisions at the national level. Since, the context, purpose and content of the Directive have been comprehended, the extent to which the UK Government had implemented its provisions, has to be examined. All the same, this Directive is significant, because it recommends the least intrusive method for achieving its objective. It is rendered effective, if its purpose, namely the use of renewable energy is achieved. This Directive aims to deter dependence on carbon based fuels. Article 249 of the Treaty, specifies that Direc... Member States are obliged to pay compensation to individuals if the latter incur loss due to the non - implementation of Directives. In the case of Francovich and Others v Italy, the ECJ held that in order to make a Member State liable for such damages, three conditions have to be fulfilled3. First, the Directive must be intended to provide rights to individuals. Second, it must contain the description and scope of the rights that it intends to provide. Third, the Member State must have failed to implement the Directive and such failure must have caused the damage to the individual4. Individuals can insist on the enforcement of a Directive. This applies even though the Directive has a horizontal direct effect limitation, which hinders its enforcement. In Francovich, the ECJ had established this principle. It also held that Member States will have to pay compensation for damages or losses to individuals under the concept of state liability, if they failed to implement a Directive5. The ECJ had further extended the scope of this decision in the subsequent joint cases of Brasserie de P'cheur6 and R v Secretary of State for Transport, ex parte Factortame (No. 4)7. The ECJ held that individuals who sustained loss could demand compensation from the Member State if it failed to implement the EC Law. This also applies if the Member States had violated the provisions of EC Law. If an individual sustained a loss or damage due to the incorrect or non - implementation of EC law provisions by a Member State, then that individual can sue against the state in the national court and seek compensation for such damage. Moreover, individuals can invoke the
